ABC Radio reporter Angus Verley interviewed Kilter Rural CEO Cullen Gunn about Kilter Rural’s success in growing Australia’s first organic tomato crop.
The crop was grown near Lake Boga in north-west Victoria and processed at Australia’s biggest tomato-processing company, Kagome, in Echuca. The tomatoes were then packaged at Ardmona in the Shepparton region. From the first tomato crop in 2011, Kilter Rural has grown to become the largest supplier to Kagome.
The tinned organic tomatoes are available from Woolworths stores.
